(ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.) — For the third year in a row, a contestant from New York has won the Miss America pageant.
Miss New York Kira Kazantsev was crowned Miss America 2015 on Sunday night in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She takes over the title from Nina Davuluri, who also hails from the Empire State.
During the talent competition, the 22-year-old Kazantsev performed the Pharrell Williams hit “Happy” while sitting on the stage and mimicking Anna Kendrick’s plastic cup routine from the movie Pitch Perfect.
Miss Virginia Courtney Paige Garrett finished second.
ABC aired the pageant, which was hosted by The Bachelor‘s Chris Harrison and Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer.
