ABC has canceled the Roseanne revival series after its star Roseanne Barr tweeted that former president Barack Obama’s aid, Valerie Jarrett, is the “offspring of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.'”

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday.

The news comes two months after the show was renewed for a second season. “We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes,” Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, said in March 2018. “The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the ‘Roseanne’ team has in store for next year.”
