Another popular (and unexpected) Hollywood couple is headed to Splitsville this week. Right on the heels of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner and Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, veteran couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have confirmed that they are divorcing.
Despite being together for 19 years (13 of which they were married) and 3 sons, the longtime duo are going their separate ways, their reps confirmed to People (although TMZ was the first source to report the news).
The statement reads: “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.” It continues, “To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”
As People noted, Gwen opened up about their relationship earlier this year:
“We go through so much together – it’s a miracle that we could stay together this long,” the No Doubt singer told Cosmopolitan earlier this year. “It’s good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that’s what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality.”
The couple shares three young sons together, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 1.
