Janice Dickinson is the individual in this Bill Cosby mess that isn’t going to let go. She has sued Bill Cosby for defamation.
The whole Bill Cosby potential alternate reality has become quite the fiasco, hasn’t it? Things had somewhat quieted down over the past several months, but it seems that Janice Dickinson is giving new meaning to the adage, “Hell hath no fury…” Sadly, she has no proof in her pudding.
Whether or not Bill Cosby did the things he has been accused of doing, we can’t decide here. Short of an admission from the man himself, you simply can’t try people in the public.
Yes. Personally, I’m inclined to believe the 40-something women who have offered very consistent testimonies about their interaction with the comedian who always enjoyed a relatively squeaky-clean image. The majority of people probably lean that direction. Still, the other side of the story is not outside the realm of possibility.
Janice Dickinson, however, is beside herself. Nothing has come of the allegations from the accusing women, and Bill Cosby has only suffered a tarnished reputation. So, Janice took it upon herself to sue Bill for defamation, claiming that he falsely accused her of being a liar.
Sadly, this all seems an attempt to keep the story circulating in the news feed, but frankly, we’re tired of writing about it. Janice can’t prove that she’s not lying about Bill until she proves that Bill is lying about everything else. This is lose-lose. She needs proof that Bill did all of these horrible things in order to prove that Bill defamed her by calling her a liar. Read it again.
That’s the way it works in court. If you’re the accuser, the burden of proof lies squarely on your shoulders. What a mess.
