Jim Carrey has met with the family of his late girlfriend, Cathriona White, after her apparent suicide, according to PEOPLE.
A woman who appears to be Cathriona’s sister, Lisa White was seen in a black SUV pulling away from Jim Carrey’s residence late Wednesday night, said Entertainment Tonight. She spent an hour and a half at his Brentwood home in Los Angeles.
This impromptu trip comes after Cathriona was found dead on Monday in a possible drug overdose. According to PEOPLE, Lisa traveled with her stepmother to retrieve Cathriona’s body so she can be laid to rest in Ireland by her father. The 30-year-old aspiring makeup artist had moved from Tipperary, Ireland, a few years ago to pursue her career.
In a statement released to the Irish Independent, Cathriona’s family said: “The family of Cathriona White sincerely regret the untimely passing of their beloved daughter and sister. Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was deeply loved by her entire family. We will miss her terribly and at this difficult time we ask to be left in private to mourn our loss.”
A talented photographer, Cathriona had just recently posted photos of her sister and her husband sharing a kiss on their visit to Los Angeles in August.
Her death remains under investigation until an autopsy is performed.
