Kate Middleton Surprises Commuters By Taking The Train To Her Royal Engagement

The Duchess of Cambridge is definitely quite down to earth, but that was proven even further this past Friday!

Kate was spotted riding the train to her royal engagement and surprised many commuters who had to take a second look to see if it was really her! She took the Wherry Lines to Norfolk and was spotted exiting the Norwich train station after a three-hour ride to the East Angolia county. The trip was to visit The Nook hospice, which is a new center for severely ill children. She, of course, didn’t ride completely solo and had her security along for the ride with her. It’s refreshing to see the Duchess opt for public transit over her typically more glamorous styles of traveling.

For the occasion, Kate wore one of her go-to ensembles: this purple Oscar De La Renta dress that features a peplum cut and buttons trailing the front. She accessorized the look with black tights, simple heels, and a black bag. She wore her hair in her signature blowout and was all smiles while greeting the children.
