Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has certainly found herself in a downward spiral after two recent and significant brushes with the law.
Most recently, Richards, 50, was arrested on Sunday, August 2 for shoplifting from a Target in the San Fernando Valley, multiple sources have reported.
The Van Nuys Police Department spoke to a local news station stating that Richards was suspected of walking out of the store with up to $600 worth of stolen merchandise and was apprehended at around 4:30 p.m. and placed under a citizen’s arrest. Richards then had to spend the night in jail and was released on a $5000 bail on Monday, August 3.
Meanwhile her ailing ex-husband Monty Brinson spoke to Entertainment Tonight saying he was “shocked” about the shoplifting arrest. “I couldn’t imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver. I am in complete shock. Guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake, and the facts will come out soon. She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This was not alcohol or drug related.”
Richards had to enter treatment in recent months after she was arrested for public intoxication back in April at the Beverly Hills Hotel where she caused a scene and was also charged with battery and resisting arrest.
