Sally Kellerman, the Hollywood actress who nabbed an Academy Award nomination for the role of Hot Lips Houlihan in MASH, has passed away at the age of 84.

Kellerman succumbed to complications from dementia on Thursday, February 24th, according to her publicist Alan Eichler. Variety reports that she had been residing at an assisted-living facility in Woodland Hills, California and battling the disease for five years.

Besides her reputation as a muse for director Robert Altman, starring in films such as Welcome To L.A., The Player, Ready To Wear and Brewster McCloud, Kellerman also graced daytime television with a memorable two-year run on The Young and the Restless (Y&R).

Kellerman brought her rare presence to Y&R in 2014 and 2015 playing Constance Bingham, a wealthy individual who was conned by Adam Newman (Justin Hartley, before he found This Is Us fame) into believing that he was Gabriel, her grandson.

Her wheelchair-bound character became the center of a storyline in which Adam was accused of poisoning her. Despite conning the poor woman, Adam was found to be innocent. As it turned out, daddy dearest, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), had bribed the coroner to implicate his own son!

Although the storyline wasn’t an all-time great for Y&R, Kellerman stole the show
