Singer Vanessa Carlton, 34, has welcomed her first child with husband John McCauley, the couple shared on Tuesday January 13 on Instagram.
“Sid the Kid, whoa!!!” McCauley wrote on his Instagram along with a photo of himself holding his brand new daughter while still inside the delivery room.
McCauley’s record label Partisan Records also sent out a congratulations to the new parents via Twitter, “There’s a new mama and papa on the block! Huge congrats to John McCauley and Vanessa Carlton on their baby girl!!! Welcome to the family!”
It seemed like Carlton was very ready for the new baby to arrive, as only days before she tweeted out being officially fed up of being pregnant, “10 months pregnant & honestly dreaming of the moment I can start this cause I’m officially waddling,” she captioned along with a picture of a postpartum workout DVD.
The healthy pregnancy and birth comes after Carlton previously revealed a high-risk pregnancy she went through in 2013, in which she lost the baby, telling fans on Facebook, “[I was] diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, or in my case it was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw.) This is not considered a viable pregnancy, because the fetus cannot develop and it is a high risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding.”
Carlton and McCauley’s healthy baby girl now makes them a family of three, slightly more than a year after the pair were married on December 27, 2013.
